How to Jailbreak Tethered iOS 6.0.1

Yesterday iOS 6.0.1 was released and it has been confirmed that it can do you the Jailbreak using existing tools for iOS 6.

Even though RedSn0w has been recently updated to version 0.9. 15b3, the update does not yet include support for iOS 6. Here's a video of the complete tutorial to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1.

Note: it is a Jailbreak Tethered only for pre-A5 devices (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch fourth generation).

Step 1: download RedSn0w 0.9. 15b3 and version 6.0 specific iOS for your device from here.

Step 2: connect the device to your computer and put in DFU mode.

Step 3: open RedSn0w and make sure it detects your device.

Step 4: click on Extras > Select IPSW and select firmware iOS 6.0 for the device. If it went well it should identify the generation.

Step 5: return to the main page of RedSn0w and click on Jailbreak. RedSn0w will process and will then allow you install Cydia, which you will need to check on the next screen. Click on Next and the Jailbreak process will end by turning on your device. Keep open RedSn0w.

Step 6: A once the jailbreak is complete and that the device is in the lock screen, replace the device in DFU mode.

Step 7: on the home page of RedSn0w click Extras > Just boot. There will be a tethered boot. The device should be restarted with the pineapple logo.

Step 8: once the device restarts, you should see the Cydia icon on the home screen.

That's it, you're finished!. You have all the information in our Jailbreak section.

How to make Jailbreak Tethered iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 G with iOS 6

A few days ago we did a short summary of the current state of the Jailbreak for iOS 6. The subject painted not too well at that time, since it was not yet possible to perform the process on some devices.

In this summary, we also said it was possible to jailbreak halfway to some devices. It could be a Jailbreak tethered, i.e. everytime you reiniciabas the device was necessary to reconnect the device to a computer to start it, but even so this process did not include the installation of Cydia, so it would only be interesting for experienced developers.

RedSn0w team has done the homework and has launched a new version of the application that allows Jailbreak tethered to the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th generation with iOS 6. This time Yes, the Jailbreak process includes the installation of Cydia, although again we emphasize that Jailbreak is tethered, what ever reboot your device will connect the device to a computer to boot.

To do this jailbreak compatible devices (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and fourth-generation iPod Touch) will first download the RedSn0w application version 0.9. 15b1 for Mac or Windows.

We will also need the file .ipsw for iOS 6 for the device to which you want to Jailbreak:

Once downloaded the application and the .ipsw file, must follow the following steps to perform the Jailbreak tethered:

Make a backup in iTunes on the device.Connect the device to a USB port, turn it off and keep closed RedSn0w iTunesEjecutar and click on the Jailbreak.Cuando button the application requests it, put your device in DFU mode. So keep pressing the Home button and Sleep for 10 seconds (the two buttons the device key: front and top). Loose Sleep and keep Home during some seconds more, until iTunes recognizes the device in restore mode.Once RedSn0w detects that the device is in DFU mode, it will perform various tasks automatically. It will take several minutes until the end, it is important not to close the application or disconnect the device until the end.Once you are finished, we will have our device with Jailbreak and Cydia installed correctly.

Again, remember that you it's a Jailbreak tethered, so it will be necessary to connect the device to the computer and run RedSn0w to be able to boot it everytime we want it to restart. To do so as automatically as possible, it is necessary to activate the Autoboot option this device when it connects in DFU mode. If we do this, whenever you want to reboot the device, open RedSn0w, went directly to Extras and click on Just boot.

Of course, it is important to mention that this process is dangerous and that it know perfectly well what you're doing is better do not you follow, since you might have problems with the device (although it is not usual). In addition, the Jailbreak process voids the official device warranty, even being a reversible procedure.
