Record what happens on the screen of your iPhone with RecordMyScreen, an alternative to DisplayRecorder.

Displayrecorder, is a paid app from Cydia that allows us to record everything that happens on the screen of your device simple and functional. Now, thanks to John Coates, can enjoy the same features as DisplayRecorder but for free, using RecordMyScreen application, developed in open source.

The characteristics found in RecorMyScreen are:

  • Open Source Project
  • Ability to rotate the screen while recording
  • Supports both full screen and reduced
  • Capture frames OpenGL
  • Records in third-party applications
  • Fully compatible with retina display (not change with the iPad)
  • It can be run in safe mode

The only thing that really bothers a little, is the fact that throughout the process of capturing and recording our iPhone screen will appear on the top red bar with the name of the application, which will be recorded along with the rest of the recording.

Although DisplayRecorder application is even better, found it to be free, RecordMyScreen works pretty well, and hopefully soon receive substantial improvements.

RecordMyScreen is available for free in Cydia in the BigBoss repo.
