IOS applications, less secure than Android

Security and privacy go hand in hand. In fact, there is no security without privacy, since compromising any personal data can cause us some problems. And not for nothing, but a study conducted by Appthority, ended with bad news for iOS applications. In fact, the study reveals that Free iOS applications, have greater access to personal information of users of these applications to Android.

Normally Free iOS applications are often financed with the use of advertising within them and analysis of the company as a means to generate income. Therefore, although many Android applications are notoriously insecure, is that over 50 percent of the applications listed in the top 50 free iOS application, perform actions on our devices potentially dangerous to our privacy and security.

Among these operations, the study revealed that 60 percent of free applications accessing our position without our consent and 54 percent access our contact Lisa or agenda, with all that that implies: access to names, phone numbers, addresses or emails from people we know.
And worst of all this is that it has been shown that these applications send and receive data without encryption, which could make them available to third parties.

However, only 42 percent of Android applications access the user's location and only 20 percent to contacts.

The study also found that applications such as games and "entertainment", were the worst when it comes to protecting our privacy concerns.

Despite these data, at least what we can argue for iOS that Android is still far more vulnerable to malware and virus infection.

Still, these data are sobering about our privacy and access to it without permission, do not you think?.
