Apple hires TSMC for production A6X processor

It is a rumor that has been around for quite some time, in fact, dates back to March 2011: The passage of Apple moving its processor production to TSMC from Samsung A6X. The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has every chance to take the baton from Samsung in this matter.

The A6X currently be found in the iPad in April, with the A6 processor installed in the iPhone 5. Apple has reportedly hired to Samsung until 2014 for the manufacture of this processor.

Certainly, the fact that Apple has had to Samsung as a producer of components for its devices could explain the increase in the increasingly competitive Android phones coming out of Samsung.

Apple runs its own processor design, research and development of components and products, but manufacturing is not something they do on their own yet. Given the current relationship between Apple and Samsung, it's no surprise that Apple is trying to alienate their constituents increasingly away from rival factories. In fact, it does not help that Samsung recently increased the price they charge for making Apple chips by 20%.
